Plaits and updos don't have to be mutually exclusive ideas in the world of hair. Pretty plaits have a place alongside chignons, while box braids can look edgy mixed into an over-the-top bun. Or just take a nod from Kelly Osbourne (above), and braid a ponytail before twisting it into a bun. Talk about a perfect marriage! We've rounded up four more styles that are even sweeter when you add a plait (or many). For instant inspiration, just keep scrolling!

Perfume is usually a safe bet for the woman in your life at Christmas, but it takes more thought than just reaching for the prettiest-looking bottle. Your quest should start on her dressing table or bathroom shelf, where you might luck out and find her favourite. Memorise that bottle, then pick the gift set to match. If you're not lucky enough to locate the right scent, you could try a tried-and-tested favourite; look out for big names like Dior, Chanel, and Estée Lauder. Christmas brings plenty of good-value sets with matching body lotions and cosmetics bags, but also keep your eye out for solid perfumes, scented candles, and limited-edition bottles (like the lovely silver version of the much-loved Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf). Turns out our favourite female celebrities aren't the only ones sporting extensions. Daniel Radcliffe appeared on The Graham Norton Show with a new 'do for his latest film role. "It's like you have to pull back a curtain to talk to me," he quipped, joking about his chin-length bob. When asked if it was his own hair, Daniel replied, "It's hair, I assume, from a dead person or someone who donated their hair." Daniel's new hair addition is for his role as Igor in Frankenstein, which stars James McAvoy in the titular role. Will he keep the hair after shooting is done? Only time will tell. We're hoping not!
It turns out that Jennifer Aniston — aka one of the biggest hairstyle icons of our day — has a few celebrity hair crushes of her own. In an interview with Parade magazine, she said, "I think Gisele [Bündchen] has exquisite hair. That's a pretty envious head of hair. I love Kate Moss. She always has great hair."
Perhaps Jennifer misses her long locks since she recently chopped off her length in favour of a chic bob Jennifer, Gisele, and Kate all have some of the best hair in Hollywood, but we want you to fess up and tell us whose mane you love the most in the poll below!
This year was a big one for colour cosmetics, especially when it came to bright makeup. Turquoise blues, hot pinks, and pastel whites were all major trends in makeup and nails in 2013, which made every beauty maven squeal with glee. And while we already know that Radiant Orchid is poised to be one of 2014's hottest colours, we can't help but hope some of the hues below make it through 2013. Keep scrolling to see some of the hottest pigment trends of the year!
White Eye MakeupSure, white may be the absence of colour, but this shade made eyes pop in 2013. It was sketched in close as eyeliner and washed across the lid as shadow, proving that this seemingly simple hue is more than versatile.
Hot Pink LipstickWe gave our red lipsticks a break this year and embraced a sexier shade: hot pink. Diane von Furstenberg showed off the hue for Autumn, and we taught you how to apply it with ease. This colour looks gorgeous in the colder months, so you can keep wearing it through the holidays!

Put down the glitter! This party season, there are far more stylish ways to show your festive spirit. These celebrity beauty looks run the gamut from soft and sophisticated to bright, bold, and beautiful, but they all have one thing in common; they'd be perfect for your next Christmas party. Whether you're a fan of false lashes and big hair, or smoky eyes and sleek locks, you'll find something to suit. These looks are striking, modern, and easy to re-create at home.
Say what you will about Lady Gaga, but the girl has the best wigs in show business — better than Cher and Liza Minnelli combined. This year, she kicked off her ARTPOP album tour, giving us the best hair Gaga had to offer. For her performance at the VMAs, she sang and danced while changing her look five times. We don't know how much of her touring budget is devoted to hair, but there's no doubt that she is the queen of hairpieces. See the most gorgeous (and ghastly) of Gaga's wigs ahead.
The temperature may be dropping, but don't let that stop you from savouring the season. This week on Instagram, celebrities went bold and bright to fight off the looming cold; see which snaps were our favourites!
With a surprising amount of new launches every year adding to the releases from veteran scent stars like Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez, celebrity fragrances are in a category of their own. This year, we've seen One Direction expand its stardom with Our Moment, which made for a hilarious ad, and Justin Bieber released a new scent, The Key, with an equally interesting short film. This year marks Britney Spears's 10-year milestone in the fragrance industry, and she didn't miss out on the opportunity to launch Island Fantasy and her song "Perfume." But that's just the tip of the iceberg in all the celebrity fragrance launches this year. We're narrowing it down to the top 10, but who gets your vote for the best perfume launch of the year?
