Yesterday, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations came to an end with a Thanksgiving Service at St Paul's Cathedral followed by a reception at the Guildhall then a carriage ride to Buckingham Palace. Kate Middleton rounded out proceedings in her third Alexander McQueen creation in as many days, wearing a custom-made nude lace dress on Tuesday. The Duchess of Cambridge accessorised with a Jane Taylor cocktail hat, Prada clutch and her favourite nude LK Bennett Sledge heels. Princess Beatrice wore a cornflower blue Kinder Aggugini dress while her sister Princess Eugenie donned a purple Suzannah number, and both chose Stephen Jones headgear and Kurt Geiger Gina shoes. Camilla Duchess of Cornwall went with a Bruce Oldfield dress and Philip Treacy hat, while Zara Phillips chose a Herve Leger peplum number and Sophie Countess of Wessex wore Jane Taylor on her head and Jimmy Choos on her feet. Last night in London, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert took place in front of Buckingham Palace attracting music talent from across the world. The performers brought out their best onstage fashion for the event, with Jessie J wowing in a Falguni and Shane Peacock gown over Kat Maconie Boots. Cheryl Cole continued her love for fishtail gowns in her strapless black number by Polish designer Ewa Minge, while Kylie Minogue went traditional with a twist in her Pearly Queen playsuit outfit. Following the Jubilee weekend celebrations, Kate Middleton toned down her style as she watched from the Royal box in an Alexander McQueen blazer and Whistles Bella bodycon dress in multipetal print, which has now sold out. Today, commoners, Queen Elizabeth, and pop royalty gathered at Buckingham Palace for the BBC's Diamond Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the monarch's 60 years on the throne. Unfortunately, in the midst of her Diamond Jubilee Central Weekend, the queen is dealing with some trying circumstances, as her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was rushed to the hospital today with a bladder infection. Locals told BBC they feel for the royal couple, especially since Prince Philip will no longer be able to attend the rest of the Central Weekend events that include today's concert and tomorrow's service and carriage ride.
But the show must go on, and the queen still attended the Diamond Jubilee concert today (with earplugs in!) along with young royals Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, Zara Phillips, and Princess Beatrice. The star-studded event kicked off at 7:30 p.m. London time, and the public and royal family members alike — 12,000 people in total — jammed to music by Elton John, will.i.am, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, and more on a stage built around the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace. The Queen celebrated her Diamond Jubilee this weekend with a trip to the races then an historic ride down the Thames. Kate Middleton stole the show at Sunday's River Pageant in a red Alexander McQueen dress and Sylvia Fletcher hat from James Lock & Co. Her beau Prince William was smart in his uniform complete with blue sash, and the guest of honour herself Queen Elizabeth completed the Union Jack trio of shades in her ivory Angela Kelly coat and dress. Pippa Middleton was on another boat with the rest of the Duchess of Cambridge's family in a navy outfit by Orla Kiely. On Saturday, the Queen and members of the Royal family including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie attended the Epsom Derby where Katherine Jenkins performed. This weekend, Princess Eugenie entered into the Diamond Jubilee spirit with a Union Jack manicure. The Queen's granddaughter showed her patriotic nails at the Epsom Derby on Saturday, and kept the polish on for the River Pageant on the Thames on Sunday. Today is Queen Elizabeth II's first official event as part of her Diamond Jubilee Central Weekend. It's the 233rd Epsom Derby — this year named the Diamond Jubilee Derby in honor of the queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
The Epsom Derby kicked off with Ladies Day yesterday, and women sported eccentric hats and plenty of Union Jack attire. As the country's most prestigious horse race, the event draws a who's who of England — including, of course, the royal family. At today's event, Queen Elizabeth presented the Diamond Jubilee Coronation Cup to the winning horse, Camelot, who was trained by Aidan O'Brien and ridden by O'Brien's son, Joseph. Katherine Jenkins sang the national anthem, and members of the royal family like Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie attended the races — along with some stars including Mischa Barton — to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's big event. Lauren Conrad has come over all British with her latest clothing line ahead of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations this weekend. The Hills' alum's Autumn/Winter 2012 Paper Crown collection has taken inspiration from our fair shores with designs including the Kensington gown, Thames shorts and Wimbledon skirt.
