Attention, blondes! If you struggle with brassy tones, yellow streaks, or too much warmth after a few weeks of colouring, you need this bottle of brilliance from Redken. Blonde Glam Color Enhancer Treatment (£13) is a thick, luxurious conditioning treatment with a purple tint, which helps to neutralise those yellow or orange tones whilst giving the hair super shine. A generous application of this left on for a few minutes revives even a home dye job, giving you a brighter, blonder look for longer. Team it with a purple shampoo for the full effect — Touch of Silver (£3) is a classic!
Girls, it's not too late to land your Prince. It seems that Harry is smitten with on again-off again (rumoured on-again) girlfriend Cressida Bonas. However, judging from how quickly she bid him adieu last year after his Las Vegas antics, she may not be the one who sticks around to become a Princess. One thing is for sure, when the Prince is on the prowl, it seems as though he has a look; leggy ladies with cascading blonde hair. Take a peek though this photo album to see close ups of Harry's hot loves that include Chelsy Davy, Florence Brudenell-Bruce and Cressida Bonas here.
It sure was a busy weekend for all five of these sexy British blondes! Perhaps the saying is true, that this fair haired group does have more fun. It could also be that their dance cards are so full, that they haven't got the time to visit a salon for a touch up. Ladies like Pixie Lott, Sarah Harding, Mollie King, Fearne Cotton and Cate Blanchett attended various events looking lovely, however a tad unkempt. Check out these photos of blondes who aren't afraid to show us their roots!
Wowza, when I saw these photos of Gwyneth Paltrow and Paris Hilton that were taken yesterday, my mouth began to salivate with jealousy over their shiny and bright blond hair. There's just something about having light hair in the summertime that catches my eye. If you go darker in the sun, there's a chance that your beautiful brown shade will oxidise to a red colour; if you go red, you risk turning orange. It made me think the grass is always greener: unless you're a totally natural blonde, you've got the worst type of high-maintenance hair to maintain. So if you're going to spend that kind of time and money on yourself, follow these three tips to keep your blonde bright!
- Is Your Water Too High in Iron?: If your bath or shower water has too much iron in it, your hair could turn from blonde to a reddish brassy tone in no time flat. Check your water supply for iron and simply add a water softener to your filter if necessary. *FYI, washing your hair with Evian or other bottled water, is not necessary.
- Keep Your Hair Conditioned: Bleach tends to strip hair of moisture, so before it becomes too dry and brittle, deep condition it twice a week and be sure to use a moisturising conditioner every time you wash your hair.
- Use a Purple or Blue Shampoo: Since purple is the opposite colour to yellow on the colour chart, a blue- or purple-toned shampoo will help keep your hair colour bright and brassy free. There are even purple styling products on the market now for blond hair that have a violet tone in them. Try John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Styling Mousse (£4.19), and see what you think!
What do you think of this hair colour on the model mom?
I am still catching up on telling you all about the glitz and the glamour that I spied over the course of London Fashion Week. One of the trends I noticed, was that celebrities either had their hair and makeup styled to the nines, or they opted for a sort of undone, unkempt look. Last week at the at Matthew Williamson's Show is a perfect example of the latter.
Blondes such as like Sienna Miller, Cat Deeley and Poppy Delevigne lined the front row, (along with Olivia Palermo, whom I was able to steal a few moments to talk beauty with) donning messy centre parts with ultrapale, face framing highlights. Cat even told me that she was wearing minimal makeup with only balm on her lips, whilst Sienna rocked a red pout as her stand out beauty look. Would you wear bedhead hair to a fashion show?
Alice Dellal is the queen of the undercut haircut where one side is shaven and the other is long. Typically we see her with either dark hair (or at least dark roots), but yesterday at the Fashion For Relief Haiti London 2010 Fashion Show, she arrived with hair that was perfectly dyed blonde from roots to ends. The show took place at Somerset House in Covent Garden where FabSugar UK and I will be spending the next few days at London Fashion Week. Out of these three different hair colours, which do you think looks the best on Miss Dellal?
At yesterday's Oscars luncheon in Los Angeles, Carey Mulligan surprised the crowd arriving on the red carpet with showstopping blonde hair. Just last month we saw her donning a rich, dark brown shade, and shortly before that it was red. I love a girl with a little bit of beauty courage, and not only is Carey proving to be a colour chameleon, but she's also edgy (and adorable) enough to sport a pixie cut. Out of these three drastically different hair hues, which do you like the most on the happy in love Ms. Mulligan?
Australian actress Isabel Lucas was seen last night at the Aussie Premiere of Daybreakers with ultra-dark hair. Just a few months earlier, she was spotted with totally bleach blonde hair at the Spike Scream Awards, and in July, she attended the Chanel Haute Couture Fashion Show with light brown hair highlighted with soft, natural looking honey-tones. She's a beautiful young lady that can clearly stand out in a crowd with any of these hair colours, but if you had to choose your favourite, which would it be?
X Factor finalist Stacey Solomon was spotted yesterday at the Toy Fair in London. She has slowly gone from brown hair with a touch of blonde highlights, to a super light shade within a few months. She almost reminds me of Heidi Pratt with her full head of voluminous extensions and pale colour. I quite like the centre picture of Stacey best, as her bright, but controlled hair hue suits her skin tone well. How about you — do you think Stacey is too blonde now? And moreover, do you think that people in general can take bleaching their hair too far?
