The Toronto Film Festival is under way, so naturally our favourite celebrities have flocked to Canada to partake in the fashionable fun. So far, Julia Roberts, Olivia Wilde, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Chastain, and Nicole Kidman have delivered jaw-dropping ensembles. Want to see what we're talking about? Head inside to find who else is in attendance at the Toronto Film Festival and what they chose for their close-ups.
Reese Witherspoon is one of the many stars who went for the chop recently, cutting her longer locks into a more modern, youthful mid-length clavicut. But she hasn't let the loss of inches affect her styling options. At the Toronto Film Festival premiere of The Devil's Knot Reese swept her loosely waves hair over to one side in a deep parting, bringing them over one shoulder. But all was not as it seemed, a back view shows how she kept her style looking tidy from the front; a loose roll and a handful of kirby grips kept any loose strands from escaping. What do think of this party in the front, business in the back hairstyle? Cast your votes below!
As if the Venice and Deauville Film Festivals weren't enough, our eyes now turn to Toronto, where up-and-coming actress Alicia Vikander took a turn on the red carpet for the premiere of The Fifth Estate. In it she stars alongside a bevvy of British talent (including Benedict Cumberbatch, Dan Stevens, and Peter Capaldi), so it was fitting that for her moment in the spotlight, she celebrated both Britain and Canada, wearing a gown by London Fashion Week favourite Erdem (who was born in Montreal but studied and lives in London). The voluminous shape of her heavy jacquard gown is not particularly easy to pull off, but Alicia has the elegance to make it work. What do you think of her dramatic look?
The 2013 Toronto International Film Festival kicks off tomorrow, and as we prep for many A-List red carpet moments, we're taking a look back at highlights from years past. Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence, Ben Affleck, and Gwyneth Paltrow are just some of the major stars who have screened their projects and wowed Canadian audiences.

Penelope Cruz stunned in a pink Atelier Versace dress last night at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Twice Born, formerly titled Venuto al Mondo. She walked the press line to chat with fans and reporters, then linked up with costar Emile Hirsch and director Sergio Castellitto to introduce their work. Earlier in the day, the trio were together for another press event. Penelope Cruz wore a purple Emilio Pucci suit to their afternoon photocall.
It seems Penelope's husband, Javier Bardem, didn't join her for the Italian-language movie's debut. Javier's got a lot on his own plate at the moment, with the release of the next James Bond film, Skyfall, in which he stars as the villain, around the corner in November. Plus, he and Penelope are logging plenty of time together working on Ridley Scott's new project, The Counselor, in London.
Penelope Cruz joined her Twice Born costars, including Emile Hirsch, at a press conference in Toronto today. The movie, which was filmed in Rome last Fall, was previously titled Venuto al Mondo. Emile is coming off his Summer drama, Savages, to promote the project, while Penelope has been in London working on her next film, The Counselor, with husband Javier Bardem and Cameron Diaz. Penelope and Emile have a busy few days ahead of them with two more events scheduled before TIFF ends on Sunday. The festival has brought out many famous faces since kicking off last week, and we've been bringing you the latest as it happens — make sure to check out reviews of all the TIFF films
Diane Kruger donned Valentino Couture to join her boyfriend, Joshua Jackson, at the Toronto International Film Festival debut of Inescapable last night. The picture, a thriller about a father searching for his daughter, in which Josh stars, didn't meet great reception from critics — check out one scathing review of Inescapable. Nonetheless, the premiere brought Josh back to his native Canada along with German-born Diane. In fact, Josh has been spending a great deal of time in his motherland shooting Fringe in Vancouver. Diane's been keeping company with Josh north of the border, but has also ventured to their homes in LA and Paris over the last month to focus on some of her own work.
Canadian fans gave Rachel McAdams a warm welcome at last night's To the Wonder TIFF premiere. She stepped out in a lovely green gown and was joined on the carpet by costar Olga Kurylenko, also wearing a similar emerald hue. Olga and Rachel were on hand representing the ensemble cast that also includes Ben Affleck and Javier Bardem. Rachel's boyfriend, Michael Sheen, also landed a part in the film; however, director Terrence Malick cut out his role in addition to Rachel Weisz's and Amanda Peet's. This isn't the last premiere of the week for Rachel; her dramatic thriller Passion is also screening throughout the week at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. We're on the scene, so be sure to follow us on Twitter for all the latest updates, news, and photos from the festival.
Jennifer Lawrence's Antonio Berardi dress was a big contrast to her dark hair at yesterday's press conference for Silver Linings Playbook. She debuted the hue, which is part of her transformation to play Katniss Everdeen in Catching Fire, on Saturday at the TIFF premiere of Silver Linings Playbook. Jennifer's switched gears away from the Hunger Games series and onto her drama with Bradley Cooper. Bradley was also present for their TIFF events after spending last week focusing on his other big release, The Words, ahead of its release last Friday.
Kate Hudson was back in front of the cameras at Toronto International Film Festival yesterday to chat up The Reluctant Fundamentalist at a press conference. She chose a sexy black Emilio Pucci slitted dress and green heels for the occasion, which came after her hot red-carpet premiere. Kate wore a white Alexander McQueen gown and posed with fiancé Matthew Bellamy by her side. She also met up with costars Kiefer Sutherland and Riz Ahmed and the film's director, Mira Nair. Mira, Kiefer, and Riz were also by her side at yesterday's event. When Kate hasn't been making the film festival rounds, most recently in Canada and earlier this month in Venice, she's been spending time with family in London.
