Royal Ascot has tightened up its dress code this year, but that hasn't stopped racegoers donning outrageous headwear. Ladies Day is the fashion highlight of the event, and the attendees didn't disappoint yesterday in their themed hats, taking in everything from Euro 2012 to the 2012 Olympics. Throughout the week there has been headgear that beggars belief, from oversized fruit and sweets to breakfast plates and multiple umbrellas. This year rules stipulated that fascinators were no longer permitted in the Royal Enclosure, but hats and headpieces with a base of 4 inches (10cm) or more in diameter were acceptable.
The Queen, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and more members of the Royals were more classic in their choices. So were celebrities like Amanda Holden, Amy Childs, Lydia Bright, Katherine Jenkins, Danielle Lineker, Florence Brudenell-Bruce, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer, Jacqui St Clair and Kimberly Garner. Take a look at the most eye-catching here as well as the Royal family's more sedate styles, and tell me which is your favourite!
