Kate Mara joined her sister, Rooney, at the event after Rooney attended Kate's House of Cards premiere on Wednesday. It's been a busy week for the duo, who have both been doing press for their two new releases. Elle Fanning Goes Pink to Watch Jude Law Win at the BIFAs

Brits and non-Brits alike were out at the British Independent Film Awards in London last night.

Brits and non-Brits alike were out at the British Independent Film Awards in London last night. Anna Karenina star Jude Law took home the Variety Award while the drama Broken took home the top prize of best British independent film. Andrea Riseborough, who was spotted sharing a laugh with The Avengers star Tom Hiddleston, won the Best Actress award for her role in Shadow Dancer.

Felicity Jones, Tom Felton, and Elle Fanning were also on hand at the award show. Elle stole the show in a princess-like pink Oscar de la Renta gown, which was fitting for her latest role. She recently wrapped filming Disney's Maleficent, in which she plays Princess Aurora. The movie pits Elle against Angelina Jolie, who plays the villain Maleficent. Elle told us last month that she was completely starstruck by Angelina when she first met her, even silently freaking out when the A-list mom so much as touched her.

TIFF on the Scene: Keira and Jude Blow Fans Away With Anna Karenina

Keira Knightley chose a stunning and sheer black Elie Saab gown for her big TIFF premiere of Anna Karenina on Friday evening.

Keira Knightley chose a stunning and sheer black Elie Saab gown for her big TIFF premiere of Anna Karenina on Friday evening. She didn't pose with a date, but she did have her leading men Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson along for the big red-carpet event and afterparty. Buzz reviewed Anna Karenina from the festival and was blown away by the adaptation of the famous Russian novel. Keira once again teamed up with her Atonement and Pride and Prejudice director Joe Wright for Anna, and she is once again earning praise and award season buzz for her performance. In fact, the film got a standing ovation after the screening. Jude, Keira, Aaron, and the rest of their cast retreated to The Soho House to celebrate the occasion.

Anna Karenina Trailer: Keira Knightley Takes on a Dangerous Affair

You would think Keira Knightley would be sick of period pieces after movies like Pride and Prejudice and Atonement, but the actress has teamed up with director Joe Wright yet again for Anna Karenina.

You would think Keira Knightley would be sick of period pieces after movies like Pride and Prejudice and Atonement, but the actress has teamed up with director Joe Wright yet again for Anna Karenina. Taking place in the high-society circles of 19th-century Russia, Leo Tolstoy's novel tells the story of a young girl who has a scandalous affair with a count (Aaron Johnson), despite being married to government official Alexei Karenina (Jude Law).

Though it feels like we've seen Knightley in roles like this a million times before, why fix it if it ain't broken? She seems like a great fit for Anna and I didn't even recognize Johnson as a blond. As expected, the costumes look beautiful but the imagery depicting the elegance of the parties (I didn't know they had indoor skating rinks in the 1800s) is even more fantastic. The movie is set for release on Nov. 9, but check out the trailer after the jump.

Jude Law Opens the London Film Festival With a Cute Cap and Suit

Jude Law hit the red carpet for the premiere of 360 in England last night.

Jude Law hit the red carpet for the premiere of 360 in England last night. He had some time off from the West End stage and his well-reviewed Anna Christie, which his pal Cameron Diaz checked out last week. Yesterday's event kicked off the BFI London Film Festival, and Jude posed with artistic director Sandra Hebron on his way into the screening. Jude's costars Rachel Weisz and Anthony Hopkins didn't join him in promoting the film, and they were likewise absent at the afterparty, which was held at Saatchi Gallery. Jude's back to focusing on his big-screen career now that his run in the West End production of Anna Christie has wrapped. He also has Hugo and Sherlock Holmes 2 coming out later this year, and two new posters for Sherlock Holmes were just released ahead of its December opening.

Keira Knightley and Jude Law Take on Tolstoy

There's been rumors of a big-screen adaptation of Anna Karenina flying around for awhile, but now it's official.

There's been rumors of a big-screen adaptation of Anna Karenina flying around for awhile, but now it's official. Focus Features is taking on Tolstoy's iconic novel, with Keira Knightley and Jude Law set to star. The movie will be directed by Joe Wright, who previously worked with Knightley on Atonement and Pride and Prejudice; Tom Stoppard, the Oscar-winning scribe behind Shakespeare in Love, wrote the screenplay. This sounds like a team made in filmmaking heaven, so it sounds like the iconic story is in very capable hands. Fans of the book — how do you feel about the way the movie is coming together?

Contagion Trailer: An Outbreak Hits the A-List

It's always a dream to see such Hollywood heavy hitters like Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, and Kate Winslet together, but the plot of the thriller Contagion plays out more like a nightmare.

It's always a dream to see such Hollywood heavy hitters like Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, and Kate Winslet together, but the plot of the thriller Contagion plays out more like a nightmare. In the film, directed by Steven Soderbergh, Damon plays the husband of Paltrow, whose character is one of the first patients infected with a deadly, highly contagious disease. As he tries to figure out the mystery illness that infected his wife so quickly, Winslet, Marion Cotillard, and Jude Law also costar as scientists who are studying the rapid outbreak, which begins to wipe out a great deal of the population.

There's a lot of Paltrow's sickness-ridden face and Damon panicking, but the movie seems like a good old action sci-fi flick with an apocalyptic bent. Even though the movie looks likely to make everyone in its amazing cast a victim of a deadly epidemic, the star-studded roster is making me super excited to see it.
