Stars like Dakota Fanning, Leelee Sobieski, and Catherine Zeta-Jones gathered last night to celebrate the start of the Tribeca Film Festival at Vanity Fair's kickoff party. The bash was held at NYC's State Supreme Courthouse and many of the celebs posed for pictures outside before heading in to start the fun with editor in chief Graydon Carter. Leelee, who arrived with her designer husband Adam Kimmel, wore a white gown from Jil Sander. Dakota, one of the festival's judges this year, was pretty in a pink Lanvin. Catherine broke from working on The Bitter Pill to throw on a silver Michael Kors number and let loose alongside husband Michael Douglas. Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner also popped by to say hello during a date night, when their daughter Arabella stayed home. Today marks the official opening of Robert De Niro's 11-year-old cinema event — check out our roundup of highlights from the Tribeca Film Festival since its inception in 2001.
Stars came out for the annual Tribeca Ball, honoring Robert De Niro's support of the arts and benefiting the Academy of Art, in NYC last night. Julianna Margulies wore a simple black gown while Kim Catrall went with a bright blue blazer and Solange Knowles mixed things up in a printed look. Naomi Watts wore a sexy strapless Stella McCartney dress to pose on the arm of Liev Schreiber. They recently returned to the Big Apple after a trip to Barbados with their sons Sasha and Kai. Naomi wore a swimsuit and Liev went shirtless to show PDA in the ocean when they weren't hanging out with their boys during the getaway.
The glamorous affair comes just ahead of the kickoff to the Tribeca Film Festival, which Robert founded in 2001. We're gearing up for tomorrow's opening day with a look back at the most star-studded Tribeca Film Festival moments including Angelina Jolie and Kristen Stewart.
Nail art has been taken to a new level this year and celebrities have jumped right on the bandwagon. Playing with nail colours and patterns is a fun way to spice up your outfit and keep you looking and feeling trendy all without having to make a big investment considering that most manicures last around a week. We know that Lauren Conrad is a big nail trend junkie and even Helena Christensen sported the rainbow nail look earlier in the year. I've recently heard about girls painting their ring finger nail another colour instead of wearing an engagement ring or wedding band — now there's a beauty statement!
Check out past stories about seasonal styles of nails, magnetic polishes, the textured or shatter nail trend style and even confetti nail varnishes that are especially fun for the Christmas and New Year season. Vote on your favourite nail look from 2011 below!
Over the course of their 30-year career, Duran Duran has had a long history of including models in their videos, so it just makes sense that they would continue on with the tradition. For the band's just-released "Girl Panic!" short, supermodels including Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen, and Yasmin Le Bon take a turn on the instruments. Sure, there's plenty of girl-on-girl action as a result, along with groupies galore, but there are also a ton of gorgeous, edgy beauty looks to inspire. From Naomi's sexy bedhead style to a covetable crimped ponytail (around the 5:04 mark) to a variety of must-have manicures, there's something here that will make an impression on you.
Last night in New York City, celebrities, models and fashion fans such as Jessica Alba, Helena Christensen, Blake Lively, Emma Roberts, and Coco Rocha came out to celebrate the launch of the amazing new Versace for H&M collection. Clad in the clothing, everyone looked sparkly, sexy, and ready to show off their outfits. Check out all of their amazing looks in this slideshow.
When you find something that works for you sartorially, you have to hang on to it; whether it's a hemline, color combination, or favorite silhouette, some signature styles are just too good to abandon. Not only is it a reality for us mere mortals, but it also holds true for our favorite supermodels. Former catwalkers like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Naomi Campbell all have their trademark styling techniques — and even though they may not work the runway much these days, they still flaunt their symbolic sophistication and classic clothing choices on many a red carpet. Click through to see 10 supermodels that know what works for them and aren't going to give it up.
Yesterday in Spain, model and Oxfam ambassador Helena Christensen attended a launch of her photographic exhibition which she shot in Nepal (and talks more about here), donning a beautiful long printed dress and alternating nail polish colours. I spy green, coral, lavender and pink, but can't quite make out what shade is on her thumb. This is definitely not a look I expected to see on this former supermodel mom, but I think it's fun and lighthearted. What are your feelings about it?
