Jennifer Aniston is known for her signature long, sleek layers, but lately she's been taking more risks with her hairstyles. Already this week, she wowed us with her bedhead look in London (upper right), and just last night at the German premiere of We're the Millers (left), she wore a sideswept style that played on the undercut trend. This isn't the first time she's tried a variation of the extreme side part. Earlier this Summer, Jennifer rocked a plaited faux undercut (lower right) at the Guys Choice Awards. We may be biased, but whatever Jennifer and her longtime stylist, Chris McMillan, are up to, we like it!
Rihanna, Miley, Beyoncé, and now Coco Rocha! The model took to Twitter and Instagram recently to give a step-by-step evolution of her new pixie cut featuring shorter hair on the sides. Stylist Anh Co Tran was the man behind the big chop, but her husband, James Conran, also got a few snips in. We know Coco isn't afraid to take hair risks; she often changes her colour from pink to brunette and back to red. And now she joins a slew of stars trying the undercut trend this Summer. See her go from extralong locks to short and sassy, and learn how to get her look, after the jump.
Usually we can count on Jennifer Aniston for the sleekest humidity-resistant hairstyles, but she went for a more windblown look at the We're the Millers premiere in London. Her long and layered hair was plump with volume, and the tousled waves gave her style a piece-y effect. It seems Jennifer isn't afraid to try new things as of late; even her dress, a floral Dior, was an unexpected addition to her red carpet look.
In fact, the actress recently admitted she would rather shave her head than go back to her Rachel days. While that move might be a bit extreme, what do you think of Jennifer's latest departure from her signature style?
We've already seen the fiery hair colour trend take off for Summer, but these starlets take the prize for the best (red) hair in Hollywood. Whether these redheads are natural or bottle-born, it is a rare shade that isn't easily overlooked. From strawberry to chestnut and everything in between, click through to see our favourite redheads, and perhaps you'll get inspired to go crimson this Autumn.
Beyoncé debuted a new short hairstyle on Instagram last week, but does this mean she'll never do her iconic hair flip again? In memoriam of her famously long, blond locks, we've rounded up her best onstage hair moments. Goodness knows Queen Bey can flip, whip, shake, and blow her mane like no other. Click through to reminisce on Beyoncé's long-haired days.
Wait a minute . . . is that Beyoncé with short hair? Beyoncé has built an empire around her long, voluminous locks with hair-flipping moves we could never pull off. But recently she posted a shot of herself sporting a pixie on her Instagram. It's actually the perfect time for a style change, considering she just wrapped up the US leg of her Mrs. Carter World Tour in Brooklyn on Monday. We haven't seen her hair this short since she played Etta James in Cadillac Records. The songstress is extension-free and we love it, but what do you think of Beyoncé's new hairstyle?
Kate Hudson is the queen of effortlessly cool hairstyles, like this Brigitte Bardot-inspired coif she wore at the Clear History premiere in Los Angeles. "We didn't have to use any product for this look, just amazing tools," said Kate's longtime stylist, David Babaii, who used three key items to achieve the sexy style: a T3 Featherweight Dryer (£195), an Ibiza Round Brush, and a one-and-a-half-inch curling iron.
Starting with wet hair and working in sections from the bottom up, Babaii blew out Kate's strands with the blow dryer and round brush. He then used the curling iron — on the ends of the hair only — to form random, subtle bends throughout. To finish, he flipped Kate's fringe with a round brush for that perfect amount of retro flair. The result was, according to Babaii, "very '60s but with a modern twist."
Once upon a time, bobby pins were meant to be the hidden foundation of a style, but now they're getting a moment in the spotlight. No longer for function alone, this quintessential updo accessory has become a fashionable hair accoutrement. Whether embellished or painted, the uses for the average hair pin have expanded considerably. See how these celebrities added edge to their hairstyles with the help of a simple bobby.
Lady Gaga debuted a dramatic new look over the weekend at Devil's Heaven Gala Benefit in New York. While we're accustomed to seeing the performer in theatrical hair and makeup, her bleached brows and jet-black hair color make for an interesting contrast, especially when worn with a pared-down makeup look. We last saw Gaga in a shoulder-grazing blond wig, and before that she was spotted with chestnut brown locks. Who knows what inspired her change to the dark side, but what do you think of Lady Gaga's new style?
Kate Middleton left her London hospital maternity ward today wearing a straight, sleek blowout and her signature dark eyeliner look. Stepping outside of St. Mary's Lindo Wing before being whisked away by car, the Duchess of Cambridge made her first postbaby appearance clad in an appropriately blue bespoke Jenny Packham frock.
Several hours before, it was widely reported that hairdresser Amanda Cook Tucker had arrived to style Kate's famously impeccable coif. "Kate's hairdresser has just arrived at the Lindo Wing," royal photographer Arthur Edwards shared on his Twitter account. Kate's hospital-exit hair is a much straighter blowout than her usually waved styles, a gorgeous complement to her golden glow and beaming smile.
