If there was ever a way to end a day on a good note, it would be with Burberry Prorsum's Spring 2012 fashion show. Although I queued for over an hour to get into my backstage appointment, it was well worth the wait once I stepped inside the giant tent erected in the middle of Kensington Gardens. Wendy Rowe and Neil Moodie, the hair and makeup team behind the models, created a beautiful and quite natural look.

Whilst prepping up-and-coming model Cara Delevingne, Wendy described the look she was going for to be elegant, fresh, and glowing, explaining that the models are classic and effortless Burberry beauties with textured skin. Lips were painted in a new pinky shade for next season called Tulip whilst eyes were shadowed in taupe and almond browns with a bit of Pale Barley shimmer (a new, grey-gold shade not out quite yet) on the inner corners. Cheeks were dusted with Russet for a healthy pop of colour and an earthy-brown shade for sculpting.

"The hair has more of an unassuming bend in it than a glamorous wave", said Neil Moodie. "Since this season's girl has been outside walking in the wind, hair has to be movable and light." It was prepped with a bit of texturising spray and styling lotion before being wrapped around a large barrel iron beginning at the chin.

Last but not least, the clothing was extraordinary. Even Olivier Theyskens couldn't figure out how Christopher Bailey managed to create that kind of detail. Textures ranged from raffia to beading to jacquard, and each look was more spectacular and styled than the next. See the highlights from the show in my slideshow along with backstage and front-row photos of Sienna Miller, Kanye West, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Lily Donaldson, Gemma Arterton, Rachel Zoe and Poppy Delevigne, and let me know which outfit is at the top of your wish list for Spring.
