2011 Autumn Winter Burberry Fashion Show Makeup Look

The Modern '60s-Style Woman Makes Her Way Down the Burberry Catwalk

Being at the Burberry fashion show is nothing short of amazing. The energy is high, everyone is properly dressed in Prorsum and you know that you're in for some serious celeb-spotting and surprises from designer Christopher Bailey. But for me, the real dream come true was getting backstage this season for the first time ever. I was able to hear straight from Wendy Rowe, the queen of Burberry beauty's mouth, all about the "modern take on 1960s makeup" that she was creating right before my eyes. Wendy said, "I couldn't be working with a better brand. I'm British, for me, Burberry is it!" Below is a little clip of some really raw footage from the backstage atmosphere, but if you watch closely, you can see Wendy in action!

The beauty look created for the show was all about a "stormy, smoky eye. Since Burberry is so weather oriented," Wendy used a grey, taupe and a rose-coloured shadow and blended them together to create kind of neutral plum. Eyes were lined in a shimmery taupe shade called Molton and topped with a brown mascara. Brows were filled in and had a bit of structure to them. Cheeks were also structured using Earthy Blush, a beige shade that added contour to the hollows of the face. Lips were dabbed with a selection of shades from the Lip Mist Palette (out in May), so each model had a little bit of a different raspberry, rose-petal type creamy shade that was customised to suit their skin tone.
